1. Type and setting of the air outlet

① The form of natural ventilation air supply and exhaust outlet shall meet the requirements of cross ventilation.

② When the fresh air and exhaust outlets of new buildings are set on the bearing wall, holes shall be reserved during the main construction. When a new exhaust outlet is added to the bearing wall of an existing building, it shall be reported to the original design unit for design and checking calculation to meet the requirements of the minimum opening size and location of the structure. If it does not meet the requirements, it shall be reinforced.

③ The air inlet for natural ventilation shall adopt doors, holes, side hung windows, or vertically rotating windows, plates, etc. according to the process characteristics. The window sash for natural ventilation shall be convenient for manual opening and closing. The window sash that is not convenient for manual opening and closing or needs to be adjusted frequently shall be equipped with a switching device.

④ For hospital buildings with louvers as natural ventilation inlets, measures shall be taken to prevent rainwater from entering.

2. Position of air vent

① The air inlet for natural ventilation should be set at the side of the local dominant wind direction in summer so that natural ventilation can be used to the maximum extent and for the longest time.

② The air outlet shall be as close as possible to the source of harmful substances or the area with a high concentration of harmful substances, so as to quickly remove harmful substances from the room.

③ In order to improve the cooling effect of natural ventilation in summer, the height of the air inlet side window from the ground should be reduced as much as possible, generally not more than 1.2m, and 0.6~0.8m can be taken in hot areas in the south. It is better to use vertical shaft windows and split windows with small resistance to direct airflow into the working area.

④ The natural ventilation area should be close to the external wall opening or roof skylight. The area of unobstructed ventilation openings shall not be less than 5% of the floor area of the room, where the effective area of ventilation openings in living and working rooms shall not be less than 5% of the floor area of the room; The effective area of ventilation openings in the kitchen shall not be less than 10% of the floor area of the room, and shall not be less than 0.60 ㎡. If the rooms in the inner area of the building are naturally ventilated through adjacent rooms, the ratio of the ventilation opening area to the floor area of the room shall be increased on the basis of the above.
